　　基數(shù)詞和序數(shù)詞在句中的用法基本相同，都可以作主語、賓語、表語、同位語或定語，序數(shù)詞還可以作狀語。

　　作主語

　　There are six of us in all.

　　我們一共6個人。

　　The firstis mine and the

　　secondis yours.

　　第一個是我的，第二個是你的。

　　作賓語

　　The city has a population

　　of three million.

　　這個城市有300萬人口。

　　Do you preferthe first or

　　the second ?

　　第一個和第二個你更喜歡哪一個呢？

　　作表語

　　We are altogether five.

　　我們一共5個人。

　　You arethe second to come.

　　你是第二個來的。

　　作同位語

　　Is there room for us two?

　　有我們兩個人的位置嗎？

　　作定語

　　We still have one hour left.

　　我們還有一個小時的時問。

　　This is his first visit to China.

　　這是他第一次訪問中國。

　　作狀語

　　When did they first meet each other?

　　他們是什么時候首次見面的。
